Thanks to the support of our donors, volunteers, singers and accompanists the Mietta Song Competition has had a very successful 22 years of operation since the first Competition in 1995. We are committed to continuing that success in the future. But in recent years we have been forced to change venues a number of times and have had to work hard to ensure we continued as an entirely volunteer run organisation.
So, after a review of our operations the Mietta Song Competition Committee came to the conclusion that the best way to ensure the long term future of the Competition was to form a partnership with a group able to provide both support and a venue.
Discussions about bringing this to fruition are currently continuing. Unfortunately we are unlikely to be able to finalise the discussions in the immediate future. As a result we decided it would be better to postpone the 2018 Competition until 2019 by which time we should have an even stronger organisation and ongoing access to a quality venue which will provide a great performance and listening space for performers and audiences.
We appreciate very much the support donors, volunteers, singers, accompanists and judges have given us in the past and look forward to it continuing in the future.
