Animal-Anima

Elyane Laussade is excited to offer a solo piano recital at the Laussade Studio which will also be performed at the "Musique en Lumieres" Festival in St Riquier, France very soon.  As the theme for the festival proposed by the director is "Animal - Anima", the programme reflects both aspects of that theme, with a melange of works with animal titles, such as the Granados "Maiden and the Nightingale" and the Schubert/Liszt "Hark, Hark, the Lark!", alongside pieces which embody "Anima" or spirit, in the soulful music of Chopin, Schumann and Schubert.

Other composers represented are Daquin, Glinka/Balakirev, Zez Confrey, Aaron Copland, and John Sharpley, a composer and dear friend of Elyane's living in Singapore, whose "Blue-Bird Song" is a haunting selection from his pieces inspired by and evocative of American Indian folk music. Please come along and share some wonderful music and good fun afterwards!
