Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition Announcements

The Mietta Song Competition is delighted to share the announcement of the competitors and the jury of the 7th Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition, to be held on 11-19 July 2015.  

The 7th Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition will be presented by Chamber Music Australia in association with Melbourne Recital Centre from 11-19 July 2015.  Prizes include prestigious international performance engagements and substantial cash awards as part of the Monash University Grand Prize and the Musica Viva Australia Prize as well as the the inaugural Australian New Works Award at this year's competition. 

The 2015 jury includes:

Non-Voting Chair of the Jury: Maureen Wheeler  (Australia) – Wheeler Foundation, Founder of Lonely Planet 

Jurors Vladimir Balshin (Russia) – cellist, Borodin Quartet  Martin Beaver (Canada/USA) – violinist, Tokyo String Quartet Berit Cardas (Norway) – violist, Vertavo Quartet Boris Kuschnir (Austria) – violinist, Kopelman Quartet Irina Morozova (Australia) – violist, Goldner String Quartet  Howard Penny (Australia) – cellist, Australian National Academy of Music  Bright Sheng (China/USA) – pianist, composer and conductor

The 2015 competitors include:

Trio Bonnensis, Allant Trio, Classicus Trio, Estivo Trio, Linos Piano Trio, Trio Adorno, Trio Medici, Trio Palmer, Altius Quartet, Argus Quartet, Aris Quartett, Castalian Quartet, Giocoso Quartet, Noga Quartet, Patronus Quartet and the Verona Quartet.
