Peter Burch AM BM has been appointed the Mietta Song Competition (MSC) 2014 Ambassador.
Peter recently retired from a long and distinguished career as Musica Viva Australia's Victorian Manager following management positions with J.C.Williamson, the Victorian Opera Company and the Victorian Ballet Guild. He was also a member of Australia Council boards and a former MSC judge.
MSC Chair, Noel Turnbull, said the MSC was delighted that Peter had accepted. "He has not only been an inspirational arts administrator and mentor but also has an immense knowledge and love of music," he said.
Peter follows Robyn Archer AO and Richard Mills AM as Ambassadors.
The 2014 Mietta Song Competition, the 13th , will be held on July 19 and 20 at the Iwaki Auditorium. The call for entries opened on 27 September 2013 and entries close on 5 March 2014. The MSC has already received a record number of registrations of interest for the Competition. Live national auditions will be held in April 2014.
