Helen Barnett

Performer's Story

Helen Barnett is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Diploma of Opera and Graduate Diploma of Music (Opera), finishing top of her postgraduate year with a High Distinction and successfully gained her Licentiate in singing (AMEB), she is currently enrolled in a Masters of Music (Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium. She works with teacher Maree Ryan and accompanist and coach David Miller. Helen has performed extensively throughout Sydney and NSW both in recital opera and oratorio. Helen has performed the roles of First Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflote for Opera South and the role of Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro for the Sydney Conservatorium Opera Studio, directed by Patrick Nolan. She is currently in the chorus of Opera Australia’s production of Der Rosenkavalier. Helen has sung the soprano solos in Vesperae Solennes de Confessore, The Lord Nelson Mass and Handel’s Chandos Anthem (9th). Helen will be singing the soprano solo in The Messiah in Sydney’s Town Hall in December of this year.
